August 5 deadline for the signing of the Southern Alliance Agreement
Sudanese Foreign Minister Dardiri Mohamed Ahmed on Thursday set a date for the signing of the final agreement by the southern Sudan parties in a regional and international presence, reiterating Sudan’s keenness to continue its efforts to bring some other factions into agreement.
The minister expressed his happiness in his speech before the signing ceremony of the agreement, reached the parties to the negotiations in southern Sudan to an agreement on governance and power sharing, which was initialed Wednesday, the Academy of Security and Strategic Studies.
The agreement includes five chapters and 11 pages, which were transmitted from IGAD to Sudan. The signing ceremony was attended by Riek Machar, representatives of other parties and political forces, the IGAD representative and a number of members of the diplomatic corps in Sudan. It is noteworthy that the mediation intensified.
