FM visits South Sudan on Friday
Khartoum, 2 August (SUNA) – The Minister for Foreign Affairs-cum-Presidential Envoy, Dr Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed, will fly to South Sudan on Friday carrying a message from president Omar Bashir to his South Sudanese counterpart, Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The message deals with the arrangements for signing the peace agreement by the south Sudanese rivals, set for August the 5th 2018, in Khartoum.
Ambassador Ghareeb Allah Al Khidir, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the Minister will also meet the South Sudan first vice president, Taban Deng, and the South Sudan Vice President Wanig Igga
He said Dirdiri will discuss with his south Sudanese counterpart, focusing on horizons of cooperation between the two sister countries and coordination of stands in international and regional forums.
These talks will be preceded by discussion at the level of undersecretaries in the two ministries, dealing with boosting cooperation in the political and economic fields, the spokesman said.
