More than 4,000 people have been affected by floods in Torit province
The governor of the south province of Torit, Permo Peter Isra, reported that agricultural crops were damaged by heavy rains in the state in July and that more than 4,000 people were threatened with famine due to floods in the province.
Peter explained that the province of Torit is currently suffering from the crisis of floods due to heavy rains in the areas located on the Khor Khniti strip from Ofong to the border of the area of Apon, in addition to starvation, noting that the affected in the district of Modngo up to a thousand citizens, Up to 3,000 citizens.
The governor appealed to humanitarian organizations to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to those affected in the region.
