As the world watches without taking any action to stop the escalation of violence in Upper Nile State of South Sudan, the government of South Sudan has recently hired the Egyptian Air Forces to target the camps of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in villages of Collo (Shilluk).

Since January 27th, 2017, ground troops of government of South Sudan, rebel forces of Sudan

People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPM/A-North), Darfur Rebel Movements (Justice and Equality) and advanced air support from the Egyptian War planes (Antonov) have brutally attacked, killed hundreds of innocent civilians who are sheltering inside the villages of Wau Shilluk and Pamadho, north of Malakal town.

This aggressive military operations have resulted in loss of hundreds of innocent lives, mainly women, children and the elderly. Also, an IDPs’ camp of Wau Shilluk has been destroyed by government heavy artillery and air bombardment of Egyptian warfare planes.

The Pashodo Community Mutual Assistance Association (PCMAA) in the United States of America, condemns in strongest terms possible this ongoing targeting of innocent civilians by using foreign mercenaries which is an indication of a plan by the government of South Sudan to continue its ethnic cleansing of Collo (Shilluk), occupy the Land of Collo (Shilluk) and drive away its inhabitants.

The Pashodo Community Mutual Assistance Association in the United States of America urges the United Nations Security Council to take an urgent and immediate action against the government of South Sudan for its cruel act against Collo (Shilluk) civilians.

The United Nations Security Council as mandated body to maintain regional and international peace and takes actions against aggressive act that affects lives of innocent civilians, must intervene immediately, launch an investigation and hold the government of South Sudan and its foreign military allies in this war against civilians accountable for its continuous mass atrocities committed in Shilluk Land against innocent civilians. Therefore, the Pashodo Community Mutual Assistance Association in the United States of America urges the United Nations Security Council to immediately announce Upper Nile as No-Fly Zone to protect lives of civilians and ensure smooth operations of humanitarian agencies on the ground.

The Pashodo Community Mutual Assistance Association in the United States of America would like to appeal to humanitarian and relief agencies to provide urgent medical and food assistance to those innocent civilians who are affected by the recent senseless attack.

Thank you!
